Unfortunately, as our friends at Mideast on Target suggest in Mideast: On Target - Lebanese “Democratic” Collapse, there is little reason to expect any helpful action from our friends the Saudis, Egyptians or Jordanians to stabilize things in Lebanon, and no one seems to be asking them for help in Iraq, and hence we find ourselves going hat in hand to the Iranians, instead of talking with them from a position of strength where we have somewhat of an alternative.

Boy are we (and the do-nothing Saudis, Egyptians and other Sunni "moderates") screwed....
