US Military Iraq Threat Assessment Chart

Why aren't we sitting down our Arab "allies" and saying to them, "Do you really want us to pull out of Iraq right now? Saudi Arabia, do you want Iran controlling the Shiite areas of Iraq? Well then decide among yourselves to: (i) send in a "peacekeeping force" and start relieving us of responsibility of this mess (and run the victory lap over "kicking us out", in the name of Pan-Arabism), or (ii) our political system is going to force us to withdraw all our troops within the next year or so to the Kurdish part of Iraq (leaving Iraq to fall apart), your people are going to become increasingly restive and supportive of Iran and of Al Qaeda (both will run the victory lap themselves for forcing us out -- as we saw from Hizbullah's standoff against Israel during the Summer, the Sunni Street is capable of cheering for Shiites), and the odds will increase that the US and/or Israel will feel more need to act against Iran, which will get the Arab Street (Sunni and Shiite) more agitated, to your detriment."

Do we have a Secretary of State? Our President needs help, and Barry W's screaming at him will not change anything. Where is Henry Kissinger when you need him?
